For many, one of the best falafels in Paris. Above the front door it says ‘Recommended by Lenny Kravitz’. The rocker visits there regularly, just like Natalie Portman! This small restaurant in Le Marais is known for its falafels that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, topped with a creamy tahini sauce and fresh vegetables. Impossible to miss this place: pass the long line of people waiting in the rue des Rosiers to discover its famous green facade. Don’t hesitate to sit inside for a truly Parisian experience or opt for take-away.

2. Le Mary Celeste: hip restaurant with fusion dishes and cocktails (3rd)
Since its opening in 2013, Le Mary Celeste (from the same team behind the famous Candelaria) has become a real hotspot in Le Marais. Expect fusion food, oysters and cocktails in a very relaxed atmosphere. The menu changes depending on the season and the chef’s mood, but is always surprisingly good. Le Mary Celeste offers a good selection of wines from all over the world. Try the white Douro from Portugal with oysters. There is also a small terrace for lunch outside, but in summer it is often difficult to find a spot there.

3. Breizh Café: eat delicious crêpes in Le Marais (3rd)
Breizh Café is by far our favorite creperie in Paris. Known for the best Breton-style buckwheat galettes and sweet crêpes. With a modern wooden interior and a choice of 15 artisanal ciders, this additional branch of the restaurant in Cancale (Brittany) is very popular among Parisians and tourists. There are now also branches in Odéon, rue Paul Bert and on the Canal Saint-Martin that are somewhat larger and have a more classic Parisian style. A little put off by the long line of people waiting at the nearby restaurant L’As du Fallafel? Then visit Miznon, an affordable place with an authentic atmosphere and Mediterranean cuisine. Israeli chef Eyal Chani, owner of the original Miznon restaurant in Tel Aviv, opened this location in Le Marais a few years ago. There are already 2 new branches in Paris. Miznon is the temple of the pita filled with fish, ratatouille, boeuf bourguignon, kebab, cauliflower, … It can be quite busy, but their pita breads and other delicacies are more than worth the wait!
